UltraPlayer Installation, Part II

Here are step-by-step instructions for installing UltraPlayer:

  1. Find the file that you downloaded from our website onto your hard drive. If you do not remember where you saved it on your hard drive, you can search for it by following these steps:
    - On your Taskbar, press START.
    - Select Find, then Files or Folders.
    - In the "Named" box, type "ultra*.exe".
    - In the "Look in" box, select "Local Hard Drives".
    - Make sure that "Include subfolders" is checked.
    - Press FIND NOW.
    - When the file is found, it will appear in the list at the bottom of the window.
  2. Double-click that file.
  3. The installation process will begin. The first screen that you see is the UltraPlayer Installation screen, with the standard warning to close other programs before you continue the installation. When you have closed all other programs on your computer, press NEXT.
  4. You will now see the ever-present Software License Agreement. This document basically tells you what you can and cannot do with our software. It is fairly standard, but you should probably read through it before you press YES.
  5. Now the fun begins. On the Choose Destination Location screen, you are asked to select the location on your hard drive where UltraPlayer will be installed. By default, UltraPlayer will be installed to "C:\Program Files\UltraPlayer". If you want to install the software in a different location, you can type the path to that location in the field, or you can press the BROWSE button to find it without having to type it in. Unless you have a reason for doing otherwise, you should leave the default location as it is and press NEXT.
  6. On the next screen, you are asked to select the Program Folder for UltraPlayer. You can choose from the list or leave it set to the default and press NEXT.
  7. Now it gets a little more complicated. On the File-Types screen, you are asked to select the file types that you would like to have associated with UltraPlayer. Simply put, you can set up UltraPlayer so that whenever you click on an MP3 file on your hard drive, or insert a CD, UltraPlayer opens to play the song. You can uncheck all of the file types if you would rather leave your system as it is now. If you change your mind about this in the future, you can associate UltraPlayer with these file types from the Options screen in UltraPlayer. For more information about this, go to the File Types section in the UltraPlayer Options description. When you have finished checking or unchecking boxes, press NEXT.
  8. Finally, the UltraPlayer program files are copied to your computer. The moving bar lets you keep track of the progress as files are copied.
  9. When all files have been copied to your computer and the installation is complete, the Setup Complete screen will pop up. If certain files were open or busy during the installation, you may need to reboot your computer before UltraPlayer will be fully installed. If this screen says nothing about rebooting, press FINISH and you are ready to start using UltraPlayer!
