FAQ - Using UltraPlayer

Playing CDs

I selected UltraPlayer as my "Default player for audio CDs", but when I insert an audio CD, nothing happens. How can I fix this?
Most likely, your operating system is currently set to NOT launch ANY applications when a CD is inserted. To undo this setting in Windows 95/98:

  1. Press the START button on your taskbar and select "Settings", then "Control Panel".
  2. Double-click on the "System" icon.
  3. Go to the "Device Manager" tab.
  4. Double-click on the "CD-ROM" tab.
  5. Select your CD-ROM and press the PROPERTIES button.
  6. Go to the "Settings" tab.
  7. In a section labeled "Options", you should see a box labeled "Auto insert notification".
  8. Check this box and press OK. Then press OK on the Device Manager box.
  9. Reboot your computer.
  10. Open UltraPlayer and press the OPTIONS button, then press SETTINGS.
  11. On the "File Types" tab, make sure that "Default player for audio CDs" is checked.
  12. Close UltraPlayer and insert an audio CD.
  13. UltraPlayer will open and start playing your CD.
