Here's an email we received that we liked so much, we put the whole darn thing on the site... Thanks Anthony! " Hello... Ah... Finally I've found an MP3 player that makes sense! I've been using WinAMP for the last 18 months, going through a gazillion releases to fix memory leaks that crash Windows and everything else 6 times a day, wondering if someone over there will come up with a paradigm for a V3.0 release that is flexible, cool and stable... Whoa... Looks like UltraPlayer already does all that... hmmm... So I can listen to radio on the Net without watching my PC slowly die the MS version of "Le Petit Mort" (not having attained any measurable level of satisfaction in the process). I can be productive and creative and not have to check system resources to see if I've dropped below the magical GDI.exe 30% Level of Death, not wondering why the hell anyone would want to 2X the WinAMP player window to make everything pixelated and worthless, not hoping the visualization module won't trash the Windows swap file with processes that haven't been cleaned up... Whoa... Looks like UltraPlayer wipes the floor with WinAMP...hmmm So, when I add links and banners to my web site, there's no doubt I'll be putting out one for UltraPlayer, one that certainly Kicks the Llama's Ass! Seriously, you guys have really made a wonderful MP3 player. I've been putting it through its paces the last couple of hours. I ran across the link to your site at Skinz.org and thought I'd give it a try. What a difference! I've always wondered why the hell WinAMP keeps upping the number of file formats it supports over making the player work better, but now, who gives a damn. I've been using PCs for 11 years (all of them with some SB card installed) and I have never even heard or had anyone play a .voc file for me. I want a player that complements what I do during the day, not rule the roost, and your player fits the bill quite nicely, thank you. I could go on for hours about the lousy radio links WinAMP provides from mediocre servers, and mostly unimaginative skins, awful visualization modules and such, but you've got to know that already. Just keep making your player better and I'll be more than glad to tell everyone about it. ... Sincerely, |
